JJ started out as a software engineer, but shifted to management after his Masters in Information Systems from the University of Melbourne gave him the frameworks to see tech from the perspective of business. He’s fluent in both biz-speak and dev-speak, bridging the gap between developers and the startup founders we work with.
Jo Librero brings 20 years of software development experience to Abstract, with a focus on practical solutions across various industry verticals. Jo's journey in tech has been driven by a passion for problem-solving and adapting to new challenges. This experience includes managing diverse projects, where adaptability and technical skill have been key to delivering effective results.

More than a decade in the technology industry, co-founding a software agency that niched into building MVP’s for ventured backed startups in SEA. That have collectively raised US$500m+ in capital. Previously country lead for the Philippines of Spenmo a series B fintech startup that have raised from leading global VC’s. Currently managing partner of a leading venture capital firm, Buko Ventures in the Philippines, funding over 30 startups.
