Designing a digital platform to access government data

Done while working at

The Story

The Philippine government is now an open government. The president signed Executive Order No. 2 – the Freedom of Information (FOI) order, which operationalizes the people’s right to information and state policies to public disclosure and transparency in public service. Together with Symph, the World Bank, and the Philippine government - we sought out a solution on designing a digital platform for open governance.

A series of meetings and workshops took place to digitizing a process that adapts to the proposed framework from the government. We took inspiration on how other countries implemented it, then modified it and created a workflow that will specifically integrate with our own.

Within 2 short months, we were able to pilot 15 government agencies on an intuitive platform with engagement from the public. We have successfully created a scalable, transparent and working system to connect the people and the government.
